Sun 22 Jul 2018: A 6 day escorted coach holiday to the Cairngorms, a specialist wildlife tour in Scotland with door to door pick up with Johnsons CoachesBook Now
Brand new for 2018, will be a collection of trips, which we know will suit many of our regular travellers. While changing nothing in terms of the quality of service, accommodation and food you have come to expect from Johnsons, we will be adding the expert skills of guide Ashley Grove, who will help you get so much more from the rich wildlife locations we will visit.
Warwickshire born Ashley has formed a career from a combination of his expert knowledge of Birds in particular and his warm approachable personality. He leads Birdwatching and Wildlife Photography tours not only in the UK, but further afield in Europe, Africa, Canada and the Caribbean.
Where facilities allow, these breaks will include an evening talk by Ashley, who is a recommended speaker by the RSPB and Royal Horticultural Society. Each of Ashleys informative talks are illustrated with images from his stunning wildlife portfolio and punctuated with entertaining anecdotes of his experiences in the field.
We are excited to welcome Ashley to the team and be able to offer these trips to what we already offer and we look forward to developing this programme further in the coming years.
In July, we head north to Scotland, where we will be based at the Grant Arms Hotel, within the Cairngorm National Park. Many Scottish specialities may be seen on this trip, which includes a Dolphin watching cruise, so theres lots of great British wildlife to enjoy.
Dont miss the chance to enjoy summer in the Scottish Highlands and fantastic views of some of the best wildlife in Britain, including red deer, pine martens, golden eagles, mountain hares, red squirrels, bottlenose dolphins and a host of wildfowl and raptors.

A scenic drive through the Cairngorms National Park, Britain's highest and most vast mountain range. We board the Funicular Railway, the highest in the UK, ascending the northern slopes of the mountain on a spectacular 2km journey. Next, we visit the Rothiemurchas Estate for a tour of the parkland where our ranger introduces us to the herd of red deer and explains how the herd was first formed by capturing wild animals. Those born in captivity have no fear of humans and can be fed by hand. Tonight, relax in the hotel with a wildlife film and a talk from Ashley.
Today, we visit the Loch Garten Osprey Centre - an ideal spot to observe these magnificent birds, with fantastic views of the birds on the nest, plus close ups thanks to the non-invasive CCTV. Later, we visit the spectacular setting of Kincraig Highland Park, where we experience more Scottish wildlife and see endangered animals of the world's mountain and tundra regions.
