Sunday

Departing Henley in the morning, we drive to the National Memorial Arboretum (NMA) where the annual outdoor Remembrance Sunday Service will be held at the base of the Armed Forces Memorial. This is followed by the annual Remembrance Day Parade from 12.00pm. The National Memorial Arboretum (NMA) comprises 150 acres of trees and 130 memorials of national significance; you can cover as much or as little of the site as you wish. The Arboretum covers a vast area, we would suggest that anyone with mobility issues uses the Land Train to explore the site in full (Small supplementary charge payable on the day). We continue to our hotel in time for dinner, followed by our live evening's entertainment - A Remembrance Day, 1940's themed 'Last Night of the Proms' - so whether you want to dance or just listen to this big band, you are in for a great night's entertainment.

Monday

Following breakfast we travel via the pretty, traditional market town of Oakham, to Stamford. Proclaimed by Sir Walter Scott as "the finest stone town in England", Stamford was declared a conservation area in 1967. It has over 600 listed buildings of mellow limestone in the town centre including five medieval churches, all real gems.
