Monday

Travelling out via Monmouth we take in the scenic splendour of the Wye Valley as we head to Cardiff for our 4-night stay.

Tuesday

A morning Guided Tour of Cardiff Castle. Cardiff Castle is a proud monument to medieval craftsmanship and Welsh heritage. Much of it was restored and updated during the Victorian times, and today it's a feast of marble, gilding and spectacular wood carvings. Later we enjoy an afternoon guided tour of Cardiff's attractive city centre, as well as the modernised Cardiff Bay area.

Wednesday

A full day excursion to the stunning Gower Peninsula taking in the Mumbles and the Gower Heritage Centre, a converted watermill.

Thursday

We visit the Royal Mint Visitors Centre at Llantrisant which produces coins and medals for over 60 countries. We take a guided tour of the production processes and then visit the Visitors Centre for a self-guided tour of the static and interactive exhibits. Return to Cardiff for a free afternoon at leisure to enjoy the city's attractions.

Friday

Departing Cardiff we drive over the 'Heads of the Valley' to Abergavenny, arriving home during the afternoon.
