On this new Great Break to East Cambridgeshire and Norfolk, we can discover two of the regions great centres.
Nestled in the Fen countryside, is the small city of Ely, full of charm and home to one of the most beautiful cathedrals in England.
Meanwhile, Norwich is akin to the old cities of Belgium, France and Germany. It has more medieval churches 32 than anywhere north of the Alps and the largest intact medieval street pattern in Europe.

Travelling east, we visit Ely. The Cathedral here is a top tourist attraction and it is easy to see why. Look in awe and wonder at this 12th century building. Other popular attractions you may wish to visit include the Stained Glass Museum in the South Triforium of Ely Cathedral, Oliver Cromwell's House and Ely Museum. We continue in the afternoon to our hotel in Norwich, arriving in time for dinner and our overnight stay.
After breakfast we drive into Norwich. The city's character is spread around steep little alleyways and old cobbled streets. The best, between Market Place and the River Wensum, are marketed as the Norwich Lanes. Explore cobbled 'Elm Hill', with its half-timbered Tudor houses and antique shops. We leave Norwich mid-afternoon, returning home during the evening.
