Travelling north we visit Brockholes RSPB Nature Reserve. Take a stroll by the River Ribble, explore the woods, enjoy the lakes and view all kinds of wildlife. From here it's a short drive to our hotel located in the Lancashire Fells.
The interior décor and flower arrangements at the Gibbon Bridge are always a major talking point and today, after breakfast, we have a talk and flower arranging demonstration. After included morning coffee we then meet the Head Gardener for a tour of the hotel's magnificent gardens. Following an included light lunch, we enjoy an afternoon visit to Browsholme Hall, the ancestral home of the Parkers, Bowbearers of the Forest of Bowland since Tudor times. Enjoy the Hall's magnificent architecture, fabulous interiors and antique furnishings - the 'jewel in the crown' of the Forest of Bowland and a real hidden gem.
Today we visit Morecambe followed by an afternoon tour of Leighton Hall to gain a fascinating insight in to the story of the famous Lancashire furniture making dynasty; the Gillow family. Wander through the spectacular grounds and witness breathtaking displays from trained birds of prey. (Refreshments included).
Visit Bashall Barns - an extensively stocked farm shop where you can buy fresh local produce in a fantastic rural location. Next, we continue to Clitheroe Castle Museum, which stands high on Castle Hill and has dominated Clitheroe's skyline for over 800 years. It tells the story of Clitheroe and its surrounding area: the formation of the land 350 million years ago; the people who have lived in the area - their work, their homes; and legends and folklore.
Our homeward journey includes a visit to the fashionable seaside resort of Southport, before returning home during the evening.
