Today we head north to the Potteries. Our first visit is to the Wedgwood Visitor Centre and Museum at Barlaston. Here you can immerse yourself in the heritage of Britain's greatest luxury ceramics company. From here we have a short ride to Trentham Estate. This superb renovated estate features a lake as its centrepiece, surrounded by show gardens, perennials, woodland walks, tree trails, cafes and shops. We continue to our hotel arriving in time for dinner and our overnight stay.
This morning we drive to the former Spa town of Buxton, with its wealth of shops and lovely public gardens. We stay awhile here before moving on for a lunchtime stop in pretty Bakewell, home of the famous 'tart' or pudding, to give it its proper name, before returning home late afternoon.
