Sun 23 Jul & Sun 27 Aug 2017: A Touch of Extra Luxury at the Belmont Hotel in Sidmouth. Beautiful gardens and leisurely walks, Regency history and fine hotels, clean beaches and friendly shops. Sidmouth has it all.
Sidmouth still retains a special elegance that understandably makes it our most popular seaside location. Nestling in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the Jurassic Coast the town lies at the centre of a gentle curving bay, enclosed by red sandstone cliffs and has a level promenade with fine golden sandy beaches.

Making a suitable lunch stop en-route, we arrive at our hotel mid afternoon. Enjoy a drinks reception before your first delicious evening meal.
We visit Killerton House & Gardens (NT), where after an introductory talk we are free to explore this elegant 18th century country house that depicts the way of life in a country house between the first and second World Wars. The house is surrounded by the famous hillside garden, which includes shrubs and trees, beautiful herbaceous borders, an Ice House and a rustic summerhouse known as the Bear's Hut. Please note: There will be no fashion exhibition as the first floor will be closed while we carry out a vital conservation project. Our roof is leaking and water is making its way inside, causing damage and putting the fashion collection at risk. Between February and October, we're making vital repairs to protect the house, interiors and collections. The ground floor of the house and rest of the estate will be open as normal, with the usual busy programme of events and activities.
A free day to explore Sidmouth. In the afternoon, make the most of the Belmont's luxurious surroundings and enjoy a sumptuous Devon cream tea!
Today we pay a visit to beautiful Forde Abbey, a former Cistercian monastery known for its outstanding beauty and award winning gardens.
We commence our journey homeward. After a suitable stop for lunch
en-route we arrive home in the afternoon.
