We are pleased to once again feature this nostalgic four day break visiting some of the most important battlefields of World War One where we tread in the footsteps of the brave and visit some moving and memorable sites. Our tour is based in Ypres, perhaps the war’s most infamous site.

Monday

A morning tour of the Ypres Salient which includes visits to Tyne Cot, the largest British War Cemetery in the world. Then travelling via Vancouver Corner where we see the impressive 'Brooding Soldier' Memorial we reach the German Cemetery at Langemark before continuing to Essex Farm CWGC, where John McCrae wrote the immortal 'In Flanders Field' poem. Free time in Ypres in the afternoon with an opportunity to visit the Flanders Field Museum (not included) and the Menin Gate. Following dinner, attend the Last Post Ceremony, which takes place only a short walk from our hotel.

Tuesday

We cross the channel to France continuing to our hotel in Ypres for our 3-night stay. A 3-course restaurant dinner is included tonight.

Wednesday

A morning tour of the Ypres Salient which includes visits to Tyne Cot, the largest British War Cemetery in the world. In the evening we are free to attend the Last Post Ceremony, which takes place only a short walk from our hotel.

Thursday

This morning we visit Arras where we explore the amazing Carriere Wellington underground Tunnels. Free time for lunch in the town centre before visiting the Faubourg d'Amiens British Cemetery & Memorial. Next, we continue to Flesquieres, near Cambrai, where we discover "Deborah", a Mk4 Female tank at the Cambrai Tank Museum, followed by a short tour of the Cambrai Battlefield site.

Friday

Departing Ypres after breakfast we visit the town of Poperinge, home to Talbot House (Toc H or Everyman's Club), the Town Hall Cells and the spine chilling 'Execution Post'. Then travelling via Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery and Visitor Centre, site of the largest evacuation hospital along the Ypres Salient. We return to Calais and our return sailing home.
