Shanklin, Isle of Wight - Brunswick Hotel 8 Days

Day 1

The outward journey includes a suitable stop for lunch before sailing to the Isle of Wight, arriving at our hotel in time for dinner.

Day 2

A leisurely tour of the island. On the west of the island there is spectacular scenery, where sheer cliffs plunge down to the English Channel. We visit Freshwater Bay before reaching Alum Bay, with its colourful sands and famed Needles rocks.

Day 3

Today is free to enjoy your surroundings and explore the lovely resort.

Day 4

Today we include a train ride on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway. Hauled by a vintage steam locomotive we enjoy a special journey back in time. In the afternoon, we continue to the seafront town of Ryde.

Day 5

A late morning excursion to the picture-postcard setting of Godshill, where we include entrance to the marvellous Model Village - a 1/10 scale model of Godshill and Shanklin Old Town that nestles in the grounds of the Old Vicarage. Set in nearly two acres of gorgeous landscaped gardens this is truly a quintessentially English visitor attraction. Free time at leisure in the afternoon.

Day 6

At day at leisure in Shanklin.

Day 7

Today we have included a visit to Osborne House (EH) - Queen Victoria’s palatial holiday home on the Isle of Wight. We also visit nearby Whippingham Church, where Victoria and Albert were once regular members of the congregation.

Day 8

We catch our ferry back to the mainland and onwards to the Midlands, arriving home during the early evening.
