Tuesday

Travel to Scotland with an overnight stop in Perth/Dundee Area.

Wednesday

Departing after breakfast we visit Glamis Castle, the splendid childhood home of Her Majesty the Queen Mother. We continue in the afternoon to Aberdeen where we board the overnight Northlink Ferry sailing to Shetland.

Thursday

After breakfast we disembark the ferry and meet our local, experienced guide for a tour of the Northern Isles - Yell and Unst. Pause for a photo-stop at Sullom Voe then cross to Yell, with entry to the Old Haa Museum, Burravoe. We cross to Unst with its many beautiful beaches where a light lunch is included before we travel via Muckle Flugga, the most northern tip of the UK, and Skidbladner - a replica Viking Long Ship, before checking into our Hotel around 6.00pm.

Friday

Today we enjoy a coastal tour towards Sumburgh Head RSPB Reserve, stopping at one of the islands finest beaches - Rerwick.
View cliff scenery, golden beaches and seabird colonies. Next we visit Jarlsof archaeological site and include entry to the Croft Museum. In the afternoon we view the Shetland Ponies before arriving in Scalloway, Shetland's former capital, where we visit the folklore museum.

Saturday

Travelling via Voe and Brae, we view the spectacular off-shore sea stacks of 'Drongs'. Entry to the Tangwick Haa Museum is followed by a visit to the Shetland Jewellery Workshop. Free time in Lerwick via the Wormadale Viewpoint, before boarding our overnight evening sailing to Aberdeen.

Sunday

After breakfast, disembark the ship and take the coastal road south to Dundee with its new popular Waterfront development, before we cross over the Tay Bridge and drive to Stirling for our final night.

Monday

We commence our journey homeward, arriving home during the evening.

Day 1: 3-Star standard Hotel in Perth/Dundee area

Day 2 & 5: Overnight DBB with Cabin AccommodationNorthlink Line’s MV Hamnavoe, Hrossey and Hjaltland are modern ships carrying 600 passengers with shops, restaurant, bars and a cinema on board. All Cabins are 2-Berth en-suite.

Days 3 & 4: 2 nights DBB at the Shetland Hotel, Lerwick. Located overlooking the bay, only a few minutes’ walk from the town centre. Bar, Restaurant. Lift to most floors.

Day 6: 3-Star standard Hotel in Stirling.

 

Mobility Grade: 2 – This is a touring holiday and although most of the sightseeing is from the comfort of our coach, there are ferries to board and three different hotels, along with steps and stairs to negotiate. Please note that due to the nature of this holiday, customers with mobility difficulties may be limited in their enjoyment.
