Monday

We journey north through the Cumbrian Fells making a convenient stop for lunch en-route arriving at our hotel in Symington during the afternoon.

Tuesday

First stop today is the 15th century Rosslyn Chapel, a truly unique and compelling building that has survived the turbulent times of the Reformation and was immortalised in Dan Brown's film 'the Da Vinci Code's and is one of the most famous chapels in the world surrounded by myths and legends of the 'Holy Grail'. In the afternoon we continue to Edinburgh where we include a short guided- tour of Scotland's great capital city.

Wednesday

Today, we drive to Traquair House the oldest continually inhabited house in Scotland, which is over 900 years old and was a pleasure ground for Scottish Kings and a refuge for Catholic priests. Later, we continue to Abbotsford House, built and lived in by the 19th century novelist Sir Walter Scott - Stunningly located by the banks of the River Tweed in the heart of a landscape that inspired the poetry and novels of its creator.

Thursday

Take in some sea air as we stop in Ayr, on our way to nearby Dumfries House, one of Britain's most beautiful stately homes and best kept heritage secrets, with sumptuous interiors and magnificent furnishings, located in a marvellous 2000 acre setting. It is often regarded as an 18th century time-capsule since the principal rooms have remained virtually unchanged for 250 years. We'll enjoy exclusive access to a private room in the house to enjoy tea, coffee and shortbread, followed by a privately guided tour of the house.

Friday

After breakfast we depart our hotel, arriving home during the early evening.
