We travel south, skirting Oxford and make a stop at lunchtime in the historic city of Winchester. Continuing to Bournemouth, we arrive early afternoon with time to settle in. In the evening we enjoy our first dinner together.

After a leisurely breakfast we travel across the edge of the Purbeck Hills to visit pretty Lulworth Cove on the Dorset coast, which is now part of the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. Later we travel inland to beautiful Athelhampton House a fine 15th Century house with superb gardens.

This morning we visit the ten acres of nearby Compton Acres, which incorporates Japanese and Italian gardens with water and heather gardens together with fine views over Poole Harbour and the Purbeck Hills. We make a stop for lunch before returning home.
