Sunday

We drove North, pausing for a suitable stop for lunch en- route, arriving at our hotel for our 4-night stay.

Monday

This morning we experience the comfortable services of Mountain Goat. A fleet of mini coaches take us first through Grizedale Forest to Wray Castle for a brief stop before arriving at Hilltop (NT). This 17th century farmhouse was where Beatrix Potter wrote many of her childrens stories and it remains exactly as she left it. From here we move on to the little village of Hawkshead where we take a lunch break. This afternoon we make for Coniston Water where we enjoy a cruise on board the steam yacht Gondola.

Tuesday

Today we visit award winning Holker Hall, situated only a short distance from Grange- Over-Sands and the expanse of Morecambe Bay. Holker Hall is set in exceptionally beautiful countryside with gardens that merge into parkland framed by the Lakeland Hills. Holker Hall is home of Lord and Lady Cavendish and is one of the best loved statley homes in Britain. A cream tea will be included during our visit.

Wednesday

Enjoy a full day scenic tour travelling via Glenridding, where we board Ullswater Steamers for a cruise on beautiful Ullswater lake before continuing over the Kirkstone Pass- the highest road in the Lake District to Ambleside.

Thursday

Departing after breakfast we pause in the beautiful Bowness-On-Windermere before returning home during late afternoon.
