We discover the waterways of Cheshire with a number of wonderful scenic cruises. This tour offers a gentle way to explore this fascinating region.

Friday

We travel via the British Ironwork Centre and Sculpture Park at Oswestry - a family- owned company, long dedicated to and passionate about the preservation and creation of quality metal work, in all its forms. We then continue to our hotel for our 3-night stay.

Saturday

We make the short journey to Ellesmere Port and the National Waterways Museum. Tea/Coffee and biscuits are served upon our arrival followed by a guided tour of the museum. We then enjoy a 30-minute cruise on the Shropshire Union Canal. Later we continue to Port Sunlight for the guided tour. Port Sunlight is a unique and beautiful 19th century garden village created solely for the Sunlight Soap factory workers. Step inside Port Sunlight Museum and meet the village's creator, 'Soap King' William Hesketh Lever and discover his visions for the village and its residents.

Sunday

Today we visit historic Chester where we include a tranquil 30-minute cruise along the River Dee with commentary outlining all the interesting facts about Chester's rich history. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore this wonderful walled city.

Monday

We travel to Anderton for a cruise including the famous boat lift, built in 1875 to provide a 50ft vertical link between the River Weaver and the Trent and Mersey Canal. We return home during the afternoon.

Part of the hotel dates from 1831 when it was a vicarage for the nearby St Mathews Church. 146 well-appointed rooms, restaurant, bar, lounge, leisure centre with 22m indoor pool, solarium & jacuzzi.
