Monday
We drive norh stopping en-route at Salford Quays, Greater Manchester's unique waterfront destination. Home to the Imperial War Museum North and The Lowry amongst others the Quays offers a fantastic choice of things to do and see before we continue to our hotel for our 4-night stay.
Tuesday
Enjoy a jaunt up to the coat to Lancashire's entertainment capital, winning attractions and the world-famous Blackpool Tower and Ballroom. This evening enjoy a Guided illuminatons drive taking you through 6 miles of dazzling 'artificial sunlight' as over a million lamps, lasers and light bulbs create this electric extravaganza. If you think you've seen them before, don't believe it - each year brings fantastic new features!
Wednesday
A day at leisure to experience the wide-open sandy beaches of St Annes with its traditional pier, beach huts, mini links golf or the pretty green and historic windmill on Lytham Green offering views accross to Southport and even North Wales on a clear, sunny day. Explore Lytham with its flourishing gardens, stylish restaurants and unique collection of speciality outlet & boutique shops.
Thursday
We first visit the city of Lancashier, famed for its castle and Georgian architecture, before returning to Morecambe, boasting wide expanses of beach and a glimpse of the Lakeland fells in the distance.
Friday
We head homeward, but not before a visit to Rufford Old Hall (NT) A stunning Tudor Great Hall with fantastic furniture, tapestries and a carved oak screen, a rare survivor from the 1500's. History springs to life in the Hesketh's dining room, its food laden table, lit candles and 'fire in the hearth' waiting for the family's dinner guests.
Situated overlooking St Annes Pier, sitting directly opposite a sandy beach and just 10 minutes' drive from Blackpool Pleasure Beach. The hotel offers breathtaking views across the Irish Sea, while the nearby Alpine and Ashton Gardens offer picturesque tranquility. 'Coast' Restaurant, Bar/Lounge.
