Monday
We journey to South Wales with a suitable stop for lunch en-route arriving at our hotel during the afternoon.
Tuesday
Today our excursion takes us to St Bride’s Bay and Newgale Sands to St. David’s, birthplace of the patron saint of Wales. St. David’s has a beautiful Cathedral, the smallest in Great Britain, and a guided tour is included. From St. David’s we head around the Preseli Mountains and make our way back to Tenby.
Wednesday
Today we take to the water for an included pleasure cruise – We will take in some of Pembrokeshire’s most dramatic offshore islands. Cruise the famous pirate Paul Jones’s Bay - now frequented by the local seal colony before crossing to the protected bird reserve of St. Margaret’s Island where you can view thousands of resident and visiting birds including puffins, razorbills, cormorants and gannets. (This is a non-landing cruise) (The Boat Trip is weather dependant & may not be suitable for those with limited mobility). The rest of the day is free to explore the quaint streets and 13th century medieval walls or simply relax on the golden sands of this beautiful resort.
Thursday
A full day excursion along the coast travelling via Pendine with its 7 miles of golden sands for a short stop at the attractive Laugharne, the home of Dylan Thomas, the poet. Here you can see his home, his grave and the famous wooden boathouse where he created so many powerful works. We continue to Carmarthen. Welsh folklore says it was the birthplace of King Arthur’s mentor, the magician Merlin, the town’s Welsh name – Caerfyrddin – even translates as “Merlin’s Fort. Steeped in tradition, visitors delight in the ruins of the town’s Norman castle, which once dominated the area.
Friday
After breakfast we begin our homeward journey.
The Hotel benefits from a stunning cliff top location, boasting views of both Carmarthen Bay and the Pembrokeshire coastline. The Imperial offers en suite accommodation, free Wi-Fi, a restaurant, and a bar. All rooms at the Imperial Hotel provide a TV, tea/coffee making facilities. Some have a bath with over shower, and some feature a shower. Front facing rooms offer panoramic sea views. Mobility Grade: 3 - Isolated steps within the Hotel, however most are accessible to the lift.
