There are plenty of cafes and restaurants for lunch before continuing to our hotel for our 4-night stay.
Tuesday
We drive to the historic City of Lincoln with its magnificent cathedral, and next to it the Norman Castle. First, we meet our guide for a familiarisation tour of the city on the coach, and later in the day we enjoy a guided tour of the cathedral. The old town is a labyrinth of little alleyways and interesting shops to explore - there are plenty of tea rooms to keep you going.
Wednesday
This morning we call at the beautiful town of Stamford, packed full of art and craft shops, in time for lunch, and afterwards you have chance to discover the town. This afternoon we visit Burghley House, a 13,000-acre working Lincolnshire estate on the outskirts of Stamford. Built between 1555 and 1587 the awesome house is a Tudor House with 18 state rooms, beautiful gardens, orangery restaurant, shop and café.
Thursday
Our day begins with a drive to Spalding. Here we visit Springfields Garden Centre with time to explore and time for lunch. In the afternoon, we continue to Belton House (NT), near Grantham. The perfect English country house, set in its own deer park, Belton was built in the 17th century and offers delightful gardens, orangery and lakeside walk. The house featured in BBC’s TV adaptation of Pride & Prejudice, starring Colin Firth.
