New Year in Harrogate 23-24

Friday

Arriving in Harrogate, we make our way to the Crown Hotel, located in the heart of the delightful spa town. After check-in we have free time to explore prior to dinner.

Saturday

Today we travel to the medieval walled city of York where we enjoy the day at leisure to explore the city’s hidden gems and iconic historic buildings, including the impressive York Minster. We can take a stroll around preserved medieval streets of The Shambles and visit the many unique shops. We return to Harrogate in the afternoon we journey back to Harrogate for dinner and a relaxing evening.

Sunday

After breakfast we travel the short distance to RHS Harlow Carr - These magnificent gardens cover 58 acres and reflect the Yorkshire landscape and are designed with local stone and woodland. Return to our hotel for an afternoon cream tea before a special New Year’s Eve gala dinner with drinks reception and entertainment.

Monday

Happy New Year! After a leisurely breakfast, the morning is free to relax in the comfort of our hotel or we can get out in the fresh air and explore magical atmosphere of Harrogate with its magnificent architecture. In the afternoon, a fabulous trip to the Dales awaits as we transfer to nearby Bolton Abbey for a ride on the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Railway. During our one hour round trip, we can sit back and admire the stunning Yorkshire winter scenery. Later, we return to our hotel for dinner.

Tuesday

We bid farewell to wonderful Harrogate and travel to the beautiful market town of Thirsk. We include a visit to the award-winning ‘World of James Herriot’ Museum to see where the world’s most famous vet lived, worked and wrote his incredible successful series of books before returning home after lunch.
