We are delighted to be returning to the lovely East Devon resort of Sidmouth and the excellent Royal York & Faulkner Hotel. The timeless holiday resort of Sidmouth offers beautiful gardens, leisurely walks, Regency history and fine hotels, clean beaches and friendly shops all nestling beneath the majestic red cliffs and the green hills of the glorious Sid Valley.

Day 1

A leisurely journey to Sidmouth with a convenient lunch stop en-route.

Day 2

We drive to Exmouth where we include a leisurely river cruise. The Exe is a feeding ground for seals so keep a watchful eye open as we sail through the calm sheltered waters of the Exe. With live commentary this cruise will give you a full insight into the history and scenic splendour of the area including the resident and visiting wildlife.

Day 3

A scenic drive today as we make our way to beautiful and inspirational Buckfast Abbey, located on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park. We continue to Buckfastleigh where we enjoy a return train journey on the South Devon Railway. Following the River Dart our journey takes us through the beautiful Devon Hills and beautiful unspoilt countryside.

Day 4

A free day to relax and enjoy this charming and elegant resort.

Day 5

A lovely excursion visiting the seaside towns of Dawlish and Teignmouth. Dawlish has a beautiful long sandy beach to stroll along, and the town has plenty of interesting shops and cafes. There is also a pleasant park where you can see the famous black swans of Dawlish glide sedately along the river. Teignmouth is a real hidden gem and is both a historic port and classic seaside holiday resort with classic Georgian buildings, promenade and long sandy beach.

Day 6

We travel home with a convenient lunch stop en-route.

A popular, well appointed, family owned and run hotel, in the centre of the Esplanade, overlooking the sea and adjacent to the town centre. Restaurant, Two Bars, Three comfortable lounges, Hydrotherapy Pool (extra charge). Mobility Grade: 5 – Resort: generally, level. Hotel: On the level with a few steps to some public rooms and a lift to all floors.
