Sunday

Step back in time at Quarry Bank Mill (NT) - One of Britain’s greatest industrial heritage sites, showing how a complete industrial community lived. We continue in the afternoon to Southport and our 4-night stay.

Monday

Travelling via Crosby Beach we view the ‘Another Place’ art installations - 100 spectacular cast-iron, life-size figures by Anthony Gormley spread across three kilometres of the foreshore and stretch almost one kilometre out to sea. From here we continue to Liverpool’s Royal Albert Dock. Home to multiple museums, including the Tate Liverpool and the Maritime Museum plus many historic buildings.

Tuesday

A day at leisure in Southport. Maybe take a relaxing stroll by Marine Lake and along the promenade or take the tram to the end of the pier. Charming Lord Street, with its glasscanopied shops is home to a superb range of specialist shops.

Wednesday

We visit Lytham Hall - the finest Georgian house in Lancashire. It was once the ancestral home of the colourful Clifton Family. Following our guided tour, the magnificent mature parkland can be explored at your own leisure. From here we continue to Lytham St. Annes where we explore the expansive sandy beach and Victorian Pier.

Thursday

After breakfast we depart our hotel, arriving home during the afternoon.

Located in the heart of Southport’s waterfront development, only a short walk from Lord Street and Southport Pier, the Waterfront Hotel offers luxurious accommodation and stunning coastline views. There’s also a relaxing lounge, bar, waterside Marine Brasserie and lifts to all floors. The Victoria Health and Leisure centre is located just opposite the hotel’s main entrance. Facilities include swimming pools, sauna and steam room.
