Friday

Travelling north we visit Tatton Park - one of the UK’s most complete historic estates and home to an 18th Century Mansion, set in 50 acres of beautiful gardens, that includes a rare-breed farm, medieval Old Hall, and picturesque Deer Park. In the afternoon we continue to our hotel for our 3-night stay.

Saturday

This morning we visit Leighton Hall. Nestled in a bowl of parkland, and set against a backdrop of the Lakeland Hills, this magnificent stately home is the lived-in home of the famous Gillow furniture making dynasty. Famous for its Objets d’art, stunning pieces of Gillow furniture and has no roped off areas. In them afternoon we visit Barton Grange where we board our Lancashire Canal Cruise which takes us on a leisurely journey through the beautiful Lancashire countryside with views of the Bowland Hills.

Sunday

Step back in time as we enjoy a nostalgic railway journey on the East Lancashire Railway. In the afternoon we continue to RHS Bridgewater - one of the largest and most spectacular gardening projects undertaken in Europe in recent years. There is so much to see and do in the 154-acre space.

Monday

Departing after breakfast we commence our leisurely journey homewards.

The beautiful 4-star Mercure Dunkenhalgh Hotel’s original building dates back 700 years and is set in 17 acres of tranquil parkland. While many of the original features have been restored, the bedrooms and leisure facilities are modern and blend age-old comfort with modern design. All en-suite bedrooms have hairdryer, flatscreen TV, and tea and coffee making facilities. The spa features an indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, steam room, whirlpool and thermal suite. Restaurant & bar.
