Thursday
This morning we make the short journey to Balmaha for a cruise across Loch Lomond to Luss. We continue our journey over the Rest and be Thankful Pass to Inveraray, a classic example of an 18th century planned town, built by the 3rd Duke of Argyll, chief of the powerful Clan Campbell. With its distinctive, white-washed buildings, the town is a magnificent piece of Scottish Georgian architecture. Whilst here you may wish to visit the Jail, Castle, or the woollen mill (entry not included).
Friday
Our first stop this morning is the Aberfoyle Woollen Centre where we enjoy the Sheepdog show. We continue our day with a drive over the Trossachs national park to Loch Katrine for a relaxing 2-hour cruise, while enjoying an afternoon tea.
Saturday
This morning we head for Edinburgh. On arrival, we meet our guide for a morning coach tour of Scotland’s capital city. After the tour, there will be free for you to explore at leisure. Later in the afternoon, we depart for the Kelpies, the world’s largest equine sculptures and a true masterpiece of engineering, designed by Andy Scott. Their name reflects the mythological transforming beasts with the strength of 100 horses, echoing the transformational change of the region’s landscape and the strength of its communities. The story of the Kelpies is brought to life on our walking tour, which allows us to see a Kelpie from the inside for an exclusive look at their ingenuity.
