Located on St. Mary’s, the largest island in the Isles of Scilly archipelago, the 4-star Castle Hotel is just a short 5-minute walk from Hugh Town. Nestling on the Garrison, it offers breathtaking views of the surrounding islands. Where we will discover stunning silvery white beaches, translucent turquoise seas and a rugged coastline bounded by golden gorse – this charming landscape, warmed by the breezes of the Gulf Stream, is the ideal escape for leisurely walking, peace and relaxation.

Day 1

We transfer to Land’s End Airport for our short 20-minute flight to St. Mary’s on the beautiful Isles of Scilly. Upon arrival we continue to our hotel for our 5-night stay

Day 2 to Day 5

At leisure in St. Mary’s. During our stay we include 3 excursionswhich will enable you to uncover the unique character and beauty of this archipelago.
Included Excursions
Walking tour of St. Mary’s – A full-day guided walking tour of St. Mary’s, taking in Hugh Town, Harry’s Wall, Lower Moors and the Old Town. For the more active walker we also include visits to Peninnis Head and Buzza Hill. Tresco – A crossing to the second largest island, Tresco, for a visit to the world famous Tresco Abbey Gardens. Established in the ruins of a Benedictine priory, they contain plants found nowhere else in Britain. St.Martin’s or St. Agnes – A full day trip to the island of St. Martin’s with its beautiful beaches and scenery OR St. Agnes, which is only a mile wide. You then continue to the outer isles to view colonies of wild seals and birdlife. (The exact island chosen and the actual days on which the excursions will operate will be down to the discretion of the hotel and is weather and tidal dependent).

Day 6

We return to the mainland where our coach will be waiting to whisk you homeward

4* The Star Castle Hotel, St. Mary’s

This Grade I listed, family run hotel, is located on the Garrison a short walk from the centre of St. Mary’s and the harbour, commanding breathtaking views of the stunning archipelago. With 38 bedrooms, the hotel boasts traditional 16th century castle accommodation within 3 acres of secluded gardens. Facilities include an indoor heated swimming pool, conservatory and 2 award-winning restaurants. There is also a lounge for teas, coffees and cream teas. Mobility Grade: 2. It is a steep walk to the castle. There are nine steps to the main entrance and many unavoidable steps throughout the hotel and grounds. There are many bedrooms on the ground, however we do not recommend this hotel for those with impaired or reduced mobility.
