Sunday
Arriving in Harrogate, we make our way to the Cedar Court Hotel, located in the heart of the delightful spa town. After check-in we have free time to explore prior to dinner.
Monday
After breakfast we travel the short distance to the RHS Harlow Carr - These magnificent gardens cover 58 acres and reflect the Yorkshire landscape and are designed with local stone and woodland. Before our dinner tonight we will be offered a glass of gin or prosecco. Dinner will be followed by hotel entertainment.
Tuesday
Our day begins with an 'Emmerdale' drive, taking us through the beautiful countryside featured on the opening credits of the programme. We make our way to the tiny village of Esholt - 'Beckindale' and then 'Emmerdale' for many years in the series. From here we head for the former spa town of Ilkley, sheltered by Ilkley Moor and the Cow and Calf Rocks. We return to the hotel in time for Afternoon Tea with finger sandwiches, scones with jam & cream, and a selection of cakes. Relax at the hotel and get ready for to sparkle and shine at our New Year's Eve Ball. This event includes an arrival drink of prosecco, 4-course meal, live entertainment, novelties and resident DJ until the early hours.
Wednesday
The day is free for you to explore the town of Harrogate. Perhaps take a stroll through the beautiful Valley Gardens followed by some retail therapy in the delightful Victorian Westminster Arcade or the independent shops of the Montpellier Quarter. Have a relaxing lunch in one of the many restaurants, cafes and bars. Dinner tonight is followed by evening entertainment - The Quiz of the year.
Thursday
We bid farewell to wonderful Harrogate and travel to the beautiful market town of Thirsk. We include a visit to the award-winning 'World of James Herriot' Museum to see where the world's most famous vet lived, worked and wrote his incredible successful series of books before returning home after.
The Cedar Court Hotel Harrogate is a Grade II listed building and was Harrogates first hotel. It enjoys a peaceful location in landscaped grounds close to the town centre and provides spacious and well-equipped accommodation. Public areas include open plan lounge and bar. All bedrooms are en-suite and have television, telephone, hairdryer and tea & coffee making facilities. The hotel has a lift.
