This morning, we will take a short drive to visit the nearby Beaulieu National Motor Museum, where over 250 vintage vehicles are exhibited in a setting that explains the story of motoring in the UK. We then experience the Victorian splendour of Palace House as costumed guides provide us with a flavour of life 'below stairs'. Enjoy a stroll through the beautiful grounds and gardens and explore the tranquil ruins of the 12th century Cistercian Beaulieu Abbey. The Monorail which offers sweeping views of the park and the Secret Army Exhibition is also included in our ticket price. In the afternoon, we will take a scenic Guided Tour through the New Forest National Park. Our route takes us via historic Lyndhurst, where we can spend some free time before continuing through the storybook village of Burley and then on to Brockenhurst, before heading back to our hotel.
This morning we visit Salisbury with time to explore this magnificent medieval city with its historic streets and alleyways and charming half-timbered buildings. We also allow time to visit the magnificent Salisbury Cathedral for a Guided Tour. In the afternoon, we travel to nearby Wilton House, set within 21 acres of landscaped parkland and home to the 18th Earl of Pembroke - This stunning house provides a fascinating insight into British history and contains one the finest surviving 17th century staterooms in England, designed to display the family portraits by Van Dyck.
Today we visit the historic gardens at Compton Acres, before heading to Poole for a 90-minute vintage cruise on the Dorset Queen, where we enjoy a Dorset cream tea and live commentary as we pass Millionaires Row, Brownsea Castle and the other four islands within Poole Harbour.
This morning we leave the New Forest and make our way home.
