Enjoy the ever-changing scenery as we journey north to Fort William.
This morning we take a scenic drive along Loch Linnhe to Oban, the unofficial capital of the West Highlands and the acclaimed 'Gateway to the Isles'. McCaig's Tower, the Distillery and the Caithness Glass Visitors Centre all add to Oban's attractions where we will have the day at leisure to explore.
We join the JACOBITE EXPRESS for our scenic steam hauled train ride along the West Highland Railway to Mallaig. Described as one of the greatest railway journeys in the world, our route takes us along over the iconic curve of Glenfinnan Viaducts magnificent 21 arches. Upon arrival in Mallaig we rejoin our coach and board the ferry to Skye. Here, we visit the Clan Donald Visitor Centre, set in the heart of a 20,000-acre Highland estate in the south of Skye. Our return sailing is at 4.35pm, with an estimated return time to the hotel of around 6.30pm.
Following breakfast we drive to the Glen Coe Visitors Centre. Here in dramatic Glencoe, or 'The Valley of Weeping', we discover an unforgettable place of dramatic mountains and haunting history. Free time in Fort William during the afternoon.
This morning we embark on a 1-hour canal cruise along the world-famous Caledonian canal from Banavie to Gairlochy. Keep your eyes peeled for deer, otters and eagles as we navigate through working lochs. Later we take a ride on a gondola at Nevis Range - where Britain's only mountain gondola transports us to 2150ft on the north face of Aonach Mor in around 15 minutes. Once at the summit absorb the stunning views of the Scottish Highlands, including the Great Glen and Ben Nevis whilst enjoying a drink at the Mountain Discovery Centre.
After breakfast we head through The Borders, arriving home during the evening.
