Travelling north we visit the Ness Botanic Gardens on the Wirral in Cheshire. Created by a rich cotton merchant in the late 1800s, it is now a great botanic garden with lots to see all year round with rhododendrons, snowdrops and wildlife as well as brilliant summer displays. A light lunch is included before we continue to our hotel and our 4-night stay.
Joined by our professional local guide, we embark on our 'Magical Mystery Tour'. A camera is a must as we visit many of the landmarks made famous by the 'Fab Four'. Strawberry Field, Penny Lane, their homes, schools and birthplaces and many other significant spots. Experience for free the Maritime Museum, with its enthralling Titanic & Slavery Exhibitions. Fabulous stories of history, industry and music in one of the cultural capitals of the world.
A day at leisure to explore the popular Royal Albert Dock area.
After a leisurely breakfast we travel through the Lancashire countryside to Rufford Old Hall (NT) near Ormskirk. With over 500 years of history this Tudor Great Hall hosted theatrical productions in Shakespeare's time. It also has a Victorian style garden. From here, we continue to Southport for some free time.
We commence our journey home which includes a stop for an included lunch, arriving back in the Midlands during the afternoon.
