A North East Coastal Christmas

Monday

Departing in the morning we travel north to Hartlepool, arriving late afternoon. Enjoy a warm northern welcome with mulled wine and mince pies as we settle in for 4 nights of dinner, bed, and breakfast. This evening, enjoy a drinks reception before dinner. Followed by live entertainment.

Tuesday

This morning we journey south crossing the River Tees with a chance to see the Transporter Bridge a historic landmark of the Middlesbrough skyline. As we make our way to the market town of Yarm. Free time at leisure to look around the festively decorated shops. Later we journey back to the hotel for a light lunch of soup and sandwiches. This afternoon is free at leisure providing the chance to explore the town from our central location. Perhaps take a pre-dinner stroll to the Marina, explore the shopping centre, or simply relax in the hotel before dinner. After dinner tonight there is will be live entertainment.

Wednesday

Merry Christmas to all! Enjoy a leisurely breakfast glass of bucks' fizz and open your presents. Have a relaxing morning in the hotel, A glass of Sherry will be served before our Traditional Christmas Lunch. followed by the King's speech with tea/coffee and Christmas cake. Following dinner tonight we round off the day with festive quiz and bingo with lots of prizes.

Thursday

This morning we travel to the ancient and historic city of Durham, acclaimed as a World Heritage Site and dominated by the magnificent cathedral and Norman Castle nearby, high above the River Wear. We have a chance to explore the historic city. Perhaps hunt for a boxing day bargain in the shops or maybe visit the Cathedral. On our return to the hotel enjoy a Cream Tea and time to relax before dinner and our final evening of live entertainment.

Friday

Departing after breakfast we visit the fascinating City of York. Free time to explore the rambling medieval streets before returning home during the evening.
