A Weekend in Lincolnshire

Friday

Departing Henley-in-Arden we visit Belvoir Castle - This majestic spectacle set high on a hill offering breath-taking views across several English counties. Built in the early 1800, discover its spectacular interiors, including the lavish bedroom suites and magnificent state rooms. Wander outside and explore the beautifully established Formal Gardens, including the relaxing and tranquil Japanese Woodland, Hermit's Garden and enjoy excellent colour displays and beautiful scents in the Duchess Garden and Rose Garden. We leave Belvoir Castle late afternoon and continue to our hotel.

Saturday

We drive to the historic City of Lincoln with, its magnificent Cathedral, and next to it the Norman Castle. We meet our Guides to take us on a familiarisation tour of the city. Then we have free time a chance to visit Lincoln Cathedral this was the tallest building in the world for almost 300 years and is filled with intricate detail throughout the gothic style architecture. The old town of Lincoln is a labyrinth of little alleyways and interesting shops to explore - there are plenty of tea rooms, pubs and cafes where you can obtain a drink and snack.

Sunday

Departing our hotel we head to Barnsdale Gardens. Made famous by gardener Geoff Hamilton through the BBC series Gardeners World, Barnsdale Gardens has the largest collection of individually designed gardens, from the Modern Estate Garden to the Lands End Garden, there really is something to occupy all garden lovers busy! We return home in the late afternoon.
