A morning departure for the North East, arriving at our hotel in time for dinner and our 4-night stay.

Friday

A wonderful day to discover the historic coastal village of Tynemouth, dominated by its Castle and Priory with 2000 years of history and beautiful views overlooking the North Sea and the River Tyne. Also take a stroll along the seafront and the main street of the village for a variety of unusual little shops and tearooms.

Saturday

A morning excursion to the magnificent gardens at Belsay Hall (EH), a magical 17th-century mansion where we enjoy a Guided Tour. The Grade I listed heritage garden has been lovingly restored with an impressive array of shrubs and flowers which change with the seasons. We return to Newcastle Quayside for free time in the afternoon.

Sunday

Resting on the Northumberland coastline, today we visit Bamburgh. The traditional stone cottages and artisanal shops showcase the authentic side of Bamburgh, while the sight of the mighty Bamburgh Castle sets the stage for its rich, historic past. We explore the castle, home to a rich collection of art, armour, and furniture. This formidable fortress has over 1,400 years of history, offering tales of Vikings, Normans, and ancient Northumbrian kings. Following a fascinating visit, there will be free time to explore Bamburgh. We then return to the hotel, enjoying stunning coastline and beach views on the way.

Monday

After breakfast its sadly homeward bound.
