Day One

We begin our holiday with the journey to Dover, where we board the ferry for the crossing to Calais. Continuing through northern France, we travel to the Mercure Reims Parc Des Expositions Hotel for our overnight stay, giving us a convenient and comfortable stop on the way to Switzerland.

Day Two

After breakfast, we continue our journey south-east towards the Swiss Alps. As Zermatt is a car-free resort, our coach will take us as far as Täsch, where we board the shuttle train for the final scenic journey into Zermatt. Our luggage will be securely transferred for us. On arrival, we check in at the National Hotel Zermatt, ideally located close to the shuttle train station. All rooms in our allocation are deluxe rooms with views of the Matterhorn or the surrounding mountains.

Day Three

Today is free to enjoy Zermatt at your own pace. Surrounded by towering peaks and traditional alpine scenery, this famous mountain resort is a wonderful place to wander, relax in a café, browse the shops or simply take in the unforgettable views. Those who wish may choose to make use of the local mountain railways or cable cars, subject to operating schedules.

Day Four

This morning we take a short walk to the station and board the legendary Glacier Express for the spectacular journey from Zermatt to Chur. Sit back and enjoy panoramic alpine scenery as the train travels through valleys, mountain landscapes and dramatic railway engineering. Depending on confirmed timings, there may be free time to explore Chur, Switzerland's oldest city, before our driver meets us for the onward coach journey to Klosters. We arrive at the Silvretta Park Hotel, our base for the next three nights.

Day Five

Today we make use of our Davos/Klosters inclusive card, which permits free train travel between Davos and Klosters. We journey to Davos, a renowned alpine resort surrounded by impressive mountain scenery, with free time to explore, perhaps enjoy a lakeside stroll, visit the shops or relax over lunch before returning to Klosters.

Day Six

We depart Klosters and travel to Chur, the region's capital and known as the oldest town in Switzerland. Here we board the Arosa Bahn for a scenic rail journey through the Schanfigg Valley to the beautiful resort of Arosa, surrounded by the mountains of Schafrügg and Erzhorn. On arrival, there will be free time to explore and enjoy lunch at leisure before we board the train for the return journey to Chur and continue back to our hotel in Klosters.

Day Seven

After breakfast, we say farewell to the Swiss Alps and begin our journey home. Travelling back through Switzerland and into France, we return to the Mercure Reims Parc Des Expositions Hotel for our final overnight stay.

Day Eight

We continue to Calais and take the short sea crossing back to Dover. From here, we complete the final leg of our journey home, bringing our memorable Swiss alpine holiday to a close.

National Zermatt Hotel

4 star National Zermatt is the only hotel in the centre of Zermatt with a breathtaking view of the Matterhorn. The hotel is just a few steps away from Sunnegga station. In this hotel, hospitality comes first; enjoy a warm, familiar atmosphere, complemented by personal service. All rooms in our allocation are deluxe rooms which feature Matterhorn or surrounding mountains views. The hotel does have a lift.

Silvretta Park Hotel

Located in the heart of Klosters, the 4 star Silvretta Park has a traditional wooden exterior and a spacious reception area. All 85 bedrooms are well furnished and include a TV, Wi-Fi, safe and hairdryer. There is a cosy piano bar, lounge and 2 restaurants serving a varied selection of cuisine to suit all tastes. Leisure facilities include an indoor swimming pool, sauna and wellness suite and there is a small charge levied for the use of the hotel’s bowling alley. The hotel has a lift.
