North Devon is also bordered by the Exmoor National Park, renowned for its striking countryside, coastal views and herds of wild deer. Our base for this holiday is the ancient market town of Barnstaple*, reputed to be one of the oldest boroughs in the United Kingdom, set on the banks of the River Taw. (*Our June departure is based at the nearby resort of Braunton).
