Luxury Scarborough

Day 1

We journey north to Scarborough arriving at the stunning 4-star Crown Hotel for our 4-night stay.

Day 2

This morning we head north following the coast road to Whitby, the famous fishing port which was once the home of Captain James Cook. High above the harbour stands the7th century Whitby Abbey, the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s ‘Dracula’. We have time to explore the narrow streets and busy harbourside before a scenic drive back to our hotel across the moors to Pickering.

Day 3

A free day to explore the varied attractions of Scarborough. Enjoy the delightful promenade in the Belvedere Gardens, take a short walk to the town centre and shops, or amble down to the beaches of South Bay, or the busy little harbour. Have a look at the newly restored Open-Air Theatre, recently reopened by Her Majesty the Queen. Explore the town with its indoor markets and antique shops or walk up to Scarborough’s fortress castle and enjoy the views across the Bays.

Day 4

Our day starts in picture postcard Helmsley, the only market town within the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. We continue in the afternoon to Eden Camp, where you will be transported back to experience the sights, sounds and smells of wartime Britain with the Home Front and the Front Line all set within the buildings and grounds of an original World War II Prisoner of War Camp. We include a Cream Tea within our visit.

Day 5

After breakfast we retrace our route back to the Midlands arriving home during the afternoon.
