Portsmouth - A Great Waterfront Adventure

Sunday

We head south to the historic waterfront city of Portsmouth, as we visit Gunwharf Quays where there is an opportunity to take a panoramic trip up the 170ft high Spinnaker Tower. Later we continue to our Hotel in Fareham for dinner and our overnight stay.

Monday

We visit Portsmouth Historic Dockyard for a journey through time! Step on board historic ships and explore magnificent museums from the Royal Navy's past. Visit HMS Victory and see Nelson's legendary warship, dive deep on-board HMS Alliance or take a Harbour Tour and discover a working naval base from the water. Leave nothing undiscovered when you visit Britain's top National Museum for naval and maritime heritage.

Tuesday

After breakfast we visit the historic city of Winchester, situated on the edge of the South Downs National Park. Winchester is England's ancient capital and former seat of King Alfred the Great while the city's Great Hall is home to the legendary Arthurian Round Table. The cathedral is well worth a visit with its beautiful, illuminated Winchester Bible, 12th-century wall paintings and medieval carvings. There are also bustling shopping streets plus bars and cafés to enjoy before our return journey home in the afternoon.
