We head to Hever Castle - built in the 13th century and former home of Anne Boleyn. Around 70,000 bulbs have been planted in the Gardens over the past few years to create a heavenly carpet of snowdrops providing a magical trail for visitors to follow. We recommend that you wear suitable footwear such as Wellington boots or walking boots as the ground may be boggy in places.
We continue to our hotel in time for dinner and our overnight stay
Monday
After breakfast, we head to Chatham Docks. Return to the 'Age of Sail' when the Dockyard built mighty ships that mastered the world's oceans. Test your sea legs on HMS OCELOT, a Cold War Submarine; explore HMS CAVALIER, a Second World War Destroyer and walk the deck of HMS GANNET, a Victorian Sloop. If you are a fan of the hit TV series 'Call the Midwife' we have included a guided walking tour led by your very own costumed midwife. Along the tour you will recognise the cobbled streets and buildings of 'Poplar' plus many other iconic locations. The tour culminates with the exclusive Call the Midwife exhibition containing set, props and costumes. We return home during the afternoon.
A charming four-star hotel in Rochester, Bridgewood Manor is the perfect destination for visitors who wish to explore scenic Kent. Restaurant, bar/lounge, outdoor patio area, leisure club & spa with indoor swimming pool. Level entrance, easy access throughout.
