Discover the dramatic landscapes, proud heritage and warm North East welcome of Northumbria on this relaxing five-day escape. Based beside the River Tyne in Newcastle, enjoy a fascinating guided tour taking in ‘Vera’ filming locations and Catherine Cookson Country, before heading to the magnificent coastal village of Bamburgh, where its mighty castle overlooks sweeping sands. Continue to the harbour town of Seahouses for time by the sea, then enjoy a day at leisure in vibrant Newcastle, with its famous Quayside, Millennium Bridge, shops, pubs and riverside walks all close at hand.

Day One: Arrival
Departing from Henley, we travel to Northumbria, arriving late afternoon at Copthorne Hotel.
Day Two
This morning we are joined by our tour guide for the day. We'll enjoy a journey around the North East taking in filming locations for 'Vera' as well as Catherine Cookson Country, with various stops throughout the day.
Day three
Today we head to Bamburgh, with its mighty castle and beautiful coastline. We enjoy a break here where you can explore and enjoy lunch, before we head South to Seahouses for time this afternoon.
Day Four
The day is yours to explore and enjoy Newcastle. Just a short walk along the quayside from your hotel is the Millennium 'Winking Eye' bridge and Newcastle's famous quayside. Enjoy a riverside stroll before maybe enjoying lunch in a quayside pub, or take a walk into the city centre for lunch and some retail therapy in Eldon Square shopping centre.
Day Five
After breakfast we leave and begin our journey home.
Millenium Copthorne, Newcastle
The Millennium Copthorne Hotel stands in one of the finest locations in Newcastle, on the banks of the River Tyne, just a short stroll from the city centre. Bedrooms are all river facing. Restaurant & Bar facilities. Mobility Grade: 4 – The hotel is on the level with a few isolated steps. Lift to all floors. This hotel does not have any walk in showers.
