We travel south, arriving at our hotel during the afternoon.

Monday

This morning we make our way to one of the most unique and fascinating attractions in Cornwall - The Lost Gardens of Heligan. Following an introductory talk and welcome we are free to discover this secret garden that was lost for decades. Relax in the afternoon in the quintessential Cornish fishing village of Mevagissey and discover its quaint streets lined with fisherman's cottages, pubs, cafes, galleries and shops.

Tuesday

Today, we visit Lanhydrock House (NT), an impressive late Victorian home and gardens. Discover the fascinating contrast between the upstairs and downstairs worlds by exploring the kitchens and servants’ quarters as well as the grand family spaces. Next, we take the short drive to the Bodmin & Wenford Railway for a scenic return heritage train ride.

Wednesday

After breakfast, we make our way to Bodmin Jail, built in 1779 for King George III, the jail was one of the first modern prisons in the UK with individual cells and segregated male and female areas. Enjoy this new Visitor experience with a Guided Walking Tour. In the afternoon, we visit Prideaux Place, a magnificent Elizabethan manor house perched on a hill above Padstow's busy harbour.

Thursday

After breakfast we depart our hotel, returning home in the afternoon.
