An Emmerdale Weekend

Friday

We travel north, making a comfort stop en route to the industrially historical town of Halifax. Standing proud in its centre, the Piece Hall is a Grade I listed building dating from 1779 that was built as a cloth hall for the trading of ‘pieces’ of cloth. Upon arrival we will have a tour by a knowledgeable heritage guide who will lead us on a journey of discovery; now the only surviving building of its kind anywhere in the UK there are many fascinating stories to be told, ranging from the Georgian period right through to the current day. From here, we continue to the Cedar Court Leeds/Bradford hotel for our 2-night stay.

Saturday

After breakfast, we begin our Emmerdale adventure travelling first to Otley –the location for ‘Hotton’ in the series. We enjoy some time here before moving on to the tiny village of Esholt, where the show was filmed for decades. The residents wished to reclaim their village so a replica filming village was built that we will visit later on our tour. After spending some time looking around, we head to the WoolpackInn where we have arranged for a drink. It is the original Emmerdale Woolpack and the only 'soap' pub where you can actually get a drink. This afternoon we commence our Emmerdale Village Tour, starting at the New Inn Pub, Eccup Lane in Leeds. We board here for our transfer to the secret filming location on the Harewood Estate. Explore the stunning Emmerdale Village as you visit the outdoor set where episodes of your favorite soap are brought to life

Sunday

Departing after breakfast we enjoy a scenic drive to Haworth – The picturesque town that was once home to the famous literary sisters – Emily, Charlotte and Ann Bronte. We continue enjoying the scenery of the hit TV series ‘Happy Valley’ and visit the town of Hebden Bridge before returning home during the afternoon
