Castles & Gardens of Kent & Call the Midwife Tour

Thursday

We travel to Kent, arriving at the Bridgewood Manor Hotel for our 4-night stay.

Friday

Following a morning visit to Royal Tunbridge Wells we continue to one of England’s most famous and romantic gardens, Sissinghurst. We travel through many pretty Kent villages including Pluckley, the setting for the filming of The Darling Buds of May.

Saturday

Today, we travel to Margate, the original seaside destination before continuing to Ramsgate, where we include a Guided Tour of the historic Ramsgate Tunnels, a huge and cavernous subterranean world of underground tunnels that were built to hide people during the blitz in World War II. From here, we continue to Deal, possibly the prettiest seaside town in Kent

Sunday

Rochester is our destination this morning, famous for its connections to Charles Dickens and its cathedral. Next, we head to Chatham, where we visit the fascinating Historic Naval Dockyard, where we enjoy the official ‘Call the Midwife’ Tour. This popular TV series has captured the hearts of millions of TV viewers over the years and our tour introduces you to some of the props, costumes and sets, all lead by a costumed Midwife!

Monday

We visit historic Hever Castle & Gardens with its enchanting double-moated castle and 125 acres of spectacular gardens before returning home in the late afternoon.
