We drive to the historic City of Lincoln with its magnificent Cathedral, and next to it the Norman Castle. First, we meet our guide for a familiarisation tour of the city on the coach, and later in the day we enjoy a Guided Tour of the Cathedral. The old town is a labyrinth of little alleyways and interesting shops to explore - there are plenty of tea rooms to keep you going.
Tuesday
This morning we call at the beautiful town of Stamford, packed full of art and craft shops. Next, we visit Burghley House, a 13,000-acre working estate on the outskirts of Stamford. This 16th century Tudor House reveals 18 state rooms, beautiful gardens, and an orangery. Restaurant, shop and café facilities.
Wednesday
We visit Springfields Garden Centre at Spalding with time to explore. In the afternoon, we continue to Belton House (NT), near Grantham. The perfect English country house, set in its own deer park, Belton was built in the 17th century and offers delightful gardens, orangery and lakeside walk.
