Monday

We journey north to Durham,
arriving late afternoon at the Radisson
Blu hotel for our 4-nights stay.

Tuesday

This morning, we head a short
distance to Beamish, the world-famous
living museum of the North. Here you
step back in time to life in North East
England during the 1820’s, 1900’s,
1940’s and 1950’s.

Wednesday

Today is a day at leisure in
historic Durham. As our hotel is located
near the centre of the city, there is
plenty to see and do within a short
walk of the hotel.

Thursday

After breakfast, we make
the journey to Bishop Auckland and
Auckland Castle. This proud home of
the Bishops of Durham stands as one of
the best-preserved Bishop’s Palaces in
Europe. Enjoy time at leisure to explore
the castle with staterooms designed to
tell the history and story of the bishops
that lived here. This afternoon we have
included an all-access ticket to the
other attractions in the town centre
managed by The Auckland Project.
This includes a Mining Art Gallery,
Spanish Art Gallery, Faith Museum and
the Auckland Tower where you can
enjoy 360-degree views of the castle, Bishop Auckland and the surrounding
rural area.
