Weymouth is a classic holiday resort situated on the great sweep of Weymouth Bay, with superb views and an award-winning beach and panoramic Esplanade. We take in some lovely coastal scenery, including the 180-million-year-old Jurassic Coast and a ride on the Swanage Railway.

Friday

We journey south arriving in Weymouth in the afternoon.

Saturday

A day at leisure in Weymouth to explore the award-winning beach, picturesque harbour and traffic-free centre.

Sunday

Today, we travel to Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, a woodland garden of splendid trees and shrubs of great variety. We continue to West Bay, known as 'The Golden Gateway to the Jurassic Coast'. West Bay has two beaches, a harbour and marina, and was used as a filming location in the hit TV series Broadchurch.

Monday

An excursion to discover the Isle of Purbeck. Arriving at Norden we board our train for a delightful ride on the Swanage Railway through pretty Corfe Castle to the lively seaside resort of Swanage. During the afternoon, we take the Sandbanks chain ferry to Poole, and enjoy some free time to explore the historic quay area with its fine array of shops.

Tuesday

Departing Weymouth after breakfast we commence our journey homeward.

3* Hotel Rex, Weymouth

Situated on the promenade, overlooking the beach and just a short stroll from the town centre and harbour. Restaurant, bar & lounge.
