Monday

A morning departure to the Northeast and arriving late afternoon in Newcastle at the popular Copthorne Hotel. Tea/Coffee and biscuits served on arrival to welcome us on our 4-night stay.

Tuesday

This morning we visit Alnwick where you have some free time to explore the traditional market
town before heading to the magnificent Cragside House. This former home of Lord and Lady
Armstrong is now in the care of the National Trust. Cragside was the first house to be lit by
electricity - a true wonder of the Victorian age. The house is festively decorated for the
Christmas period and offers a different themed experience each year.

Wednesday

Today we enjoy a free day to explore Newcastle from our city centre hotel location. If you're
looking for some retail therapy, make sure to visit Fenwick's where the famous Fenwick festive
window display will be on show or perhaps visit one of the many museums, galleries and
attractions that litter the city centre.

Thursday

Today's outing takes us north to visit the famous Beamish North of England Open Air Museum, capturing the spirit of the Northeast in the 1800's and 1900's. Attractions include restored tram and replica bus rides, authentic town street, colliery village, go down the mine, old fashioned sweet shop, working farm, steam locomotives and much more. At this time of year, the museum is festively decorated so we can reimagine what Christmas was like in bygone eras.

Friday

Homeward bound.
