The Great Little Trains of Wales are a very special way of seeing some of the best scenery in the British Isles. All are narrow gauge steam railways - some over 100 years old. Most originally served as transport to carry Welsh slate from the quarries to the sea.

Sunday

We travel to North Wales, arriving in the afternoon at Celtic Royal Hotel for our 4-night stay.

Monday

Our first visit today takes us to the unique Italianate village of Portmeirion - the setting for to cult TV series 'The Prisoner'. From here we drive to Betws-y-Coed where we have a break with time for lunch. This afternoon we head for Bala and enjoy a ride on the diminutive Bala Lake Railway,

Tuesday

This morning we join the Llanberis Lake Railway for a delightful ride along the lake shore. We have time to explore and obtain lunch in Llanberis. During the afternoon you have a choice……
Enjoy a leisurely afternoon in Llanberis village or take 'A Majestic Mountain Adventure' and have a ride on the Snowdon Mountain Railway. (The cost is approximately £35per person return. (Please make your choice at the time of booking)

Wednesday

We begin with a ride through the beautiful National Park of Snowdonia to Blaenau Ffestiniog. Here we catch the Ffestiniog Railway for an exhilarating ride across the mountains, descending to the sea at Porthmadog. We have time to explore and have lunch in Porthmadog before catching the Welsh Highland Railway train which takes us through Beddgelert and back to Caernarfon.

Thursday

We travel home with a convenient lunch stop en-route.
