A truly special journey awaits on this new tour of some of the Northwest’s best-known sights and scenery. Starting in Lancashire we enjoy the Ribble Valley, rich in Roman history, as well as a step on tour of Oswaldtwistle Mills and a heritage train ride on the East Lancashire Railway.

Thursday

We journey north to the
Manchester Airport Runway Visitor Park
- home to a variety of retired planes,
including the spectacular supersonic
airliner, Concorde. From here we
continue to our hotel for our 4-night stay.

Friday

This morning, we join a step on
guided tour from Oswaldtwistle to
enjoy a scenic drive through the
picturesque Ribble Valley, travelling
through some well-known places such
as Ribchester, built on the site of a
Roman fort, and Longridge. Our
journey ends at the Oswaldtwistle Mills
shopping village and garden centre.

Saturday

We travel to the Yorkshire
market town of Skipton - ‘Gateway to the Dales’. You have the morning at
leisure to explore, before embarking on
an hour cruise on the Leeds & Liverpool
Canal, served with tea/coffee & biscuits.

Sunday

This morning we enjoy a
heritage train journey on the East
Lancashire Railway from Bury to
Rawtenstall. Later we journey to the
National Trust’s Gawthorpe Hall,
a stunning Elizabethan country house
on the banks of the River Calder.

Monday

Departing after breakfast, we
journey into the Peak District National
Centre to Buxton, before returning
home in the afternoon.
