Picturesque North Devon has some of the most beautiful coastline in the British Isles, studded with tiny harbour-towns, quaint villages, excellent beaches and cliff-top walks, all designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty. North Devon is also bordered by the Exmoor National Park, renowned for its striking countryside, coastal views and herds of wild deer. Our base for this holiday is the ancient market town of Barnstaple*, reputed to be one of the oldest boroughs in the United Kingdom, set on the banks of the River Taw. Alternatively, our departures on the 16 Jun & 29 Sep will be based at the Imperials sister hotel, Saunton Sands at nearby Braunton.

Monday
We travel south, arriving at our hotel mid-afternoon. Relax, settle in and enjoy a drinks reception before our first delicious
evening meal.
Tuesday
We visit RHS Rosemoor Gardens. This 40-acre garden, lying in the Torridge Valley, close to Great Torrington, offers a
something for all garden lovers: * The mature Lady Anne’s Garden and its adjacent arboretum * Formal gardens * Rock gorge *
Stream & bog gardens * Enchanting lake * 200 variety of roses * Colour themed gardens * Herb garden & potager * Extensive
herbaceous borders * Cottage garden * Foliage & plantsman’s garden * Fruit & vegetable garden.
Wednesday
In the morning we are free to
enjoy the old-world charm and friendly
atmosphere of Barnstaple’s historic
Pannier Market. Today’s market
specialises in antiques and collectibles.
In the afternoon, we visit the charming
village of Woolacombe, where
magnificent scenery meets the swell of
the Atlantic waves along the
spectacular North Devon coast.
Return to our hotel for evening dinner.
Thursday
Today we enjoy a visit to
Hartland Abbey, the cherished home
of the Stucley family with treasures and
memorabilia collected over many
generations. (Guided Tour & Cream
Tea included). The beautiful 18th
century walled and woodland gardens,
the walks and the parkland provide
visitors with extensive grounds through
which to wander and enjoy the
stunning valley leading down to the
rugged Atlantic cove and cottage at
Blackpool Mill.
Friday
After breakfast we are homeward
bound.
The Saunton Sands hotel is a classic 4-star art-deco style hotel overlooking three miles of Atlantic facing golden sands backed by some of the highest sand dunes in the country. Restaurant, café, bar, lounges, snooker/billiards, leisure complex with sauna, solarium, gymnasium & beauty salon/manicure.
Mobility Grade: 3 Seafront location with public rooms and bedrooms on different levels, however all floors are served by a lift.
