Friday

We make our way into Southampton for the Christmas Festival. Held on the Above Bar pedestrian precinct, the festival offers much to see and do, with chance to search the chalets for that elusive Christmas present in the Christmas market. In the afternoon we continue to the Langstone Quays Hotel, Hayling Island for dinner and our 3-night stay.

Saturday

After breakfast we visit the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard where we can explore over 500 years of naval history where highlights include the iconic HMS Victory, Admiral Nelson’s flagship, and HMS Warrior, the world’s first iron-hulled warship. The Mary Rose Museum is also a must-visit, featuring artefacts from Henry VIII’s favourite warship.

Sunday

Today we drive to historic Winchester and the Christmas Market. The Cathedral Inner Close is transformed with more than 90 beautifully decorated wooden chalets selling a wide range of gifts. The market features festive foods, crafts village and a nativity scene.

Monday

Departing after breakfast we visit Gunwharf Quays for free time and some retail therapy. Whilst there why not visit Spinnaker Tower (Not Included) for magnificent south Coast views out to the Isle of Wight before returning home during the early evening.

The 4-Star Langstone Quays Hotel is a stunningly individualistic hotel situated on the south coast between Portsmouth and Chichester on the northern shore of Hayling Island overlooking Langstone Estuary and harbour. Brasserie Restaurant, bar/lounge, leisure facilities include a heated indoor swimming pool.
