Sunday
A journey to the beautiful Bury St. Edmunds, a historic market town that developed around the medieval Abbey of St. Edmund. From here, it is a short drive to our hotel located in the enviable waterfront area of Ipswich.
Monday
Today we visit the charming north Suffolk seaside town of Southwold. Located on the Suffolk Heritage Coast it is often viewed as 'the town that time forgot'! The town offers much of interest where you can sample the lovely sea air. Attractions include the working lighthouse, the colourful seafront beach huts, an award-winning pier and don't miss out on the famous Water Clock which causes a snigger every 30 minutes!
Tuesday
Today we visit magnificent Helmingham Hall Gardens with its beautiful park, home to a herd of red deer. Discover a classic parterre flanked by hybrid musk roses and a stunning walled kitchen garden with exquisite herbaceous borders. There is also an herb and knot garden along with a rose garden of unsurpassable beauty. Later we continue to nearby Otley Hall and Gardens - a 15th century Tudor moated hall. It is one of the top 20 Historic Houses in the UK and considered as the oldest house in Suffolk to survive largely intact, with a wealth of medieval architectural features. The Hall is surrounded by 10 acres of beautiful award-winning gardens.
Wednesday
Visit to Sutton Hoo, the site of two early medieval cemeteries dating from the 6th & 7th centuries. You can explore the atmospheric Royal Burial Ground and marvel at the full-size Anglo-Saxon ship sculpture. Later, we continue to the small seaside town of Aldeburgh. Enjoy the miles of unspoilt shingle coastline and heath lands.
Thursday
Departing after breakfast, we visit Lavenham. Known as England's best preserved medieval village and one of Suffolk's important wool towns, you can spend time exploring one of the most picturesque villages in England. Departing after lunch, we commence our journey homeward.

This contemporary, boutique hotel is set on the beautiful Ipswich waterfront. Each of the modern bedrooms has been individually designed with a personal touch, with plenty of warm and welcoming tones and contemporary furnishings. Some rooms offer fantastic views over the marina. Restaurant & bar.
