We travel south Gloucester Docks, where we visit the most inland port in the country. Explore Victorian dock buildings, designer outlet shops at Gloucester Quays, cosy cafes and fascinating museums. We then travel to Bristol - Home to Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s iconic Suspension Bridge, modern day Bristol is a cultural hub of the South West. We check into the 4* Bristol Hotel for our 2-night stay. Tonight savour a unique dining experience as we enjoy a set 3-course dinner on-board SS Great Britain.

Monday

We make the short transfer to Bristol Temple Meads Railway Station , where we join the luxurious Saphos Classic Steam hauled train for a day trip to Plymouth.

Your Journey On-board Saphos our Train, the Pullman Dining carriage, evoking elegance of a bygone era. Unravel the allure of a bygone era on a once-in-a-lifetime journey from Bristol to Plymouth, steeped in elegance, sophistication, and unbridled glamour aboard the Saphos, one of Britain’s most luxurious trains, as seen on Channel 4. Settle into meticulously restored 1920s carriages hauled by an authentic steam locomotive, where liveried stewards ensure every detail in an ambiance of pure opulence. Begin your journey with a sumptuous full English or fish breakfast with pastries, artfully crafted with attention to detail and savoured while the breathtaking landscapes glide by. Disembark in the maritime city of Plymouth, where we include a leisurely harbour cruise.

Upon our return to Bristol our coach will be waiting to whisk us back to our hotel for our overnight stay.

Tuesday

No trip to the South of England would be complete without a visit to the dazzling city and UNESCO World Heritage site, Bath. Gasp at the awe-inspiring architecture and calm at Bath Abbey or discover the Roman Baths and neo-classical Pump Rooms. Stroll around the city enjoying the many beautiful museums, parks and gardens dotted around Jane Austen’s favourite city. We return home during the early afternoon.
