The gothic York Minster is a must see and York's many museums and galleries are well worth a visit. There are also plenty of bars and restaurants dotted along the quaint streets of York.

We drive to York, arriving late morning, where we are free to explore this wonderful city. Within this beautiful city over 2000 years of history are packed into its compact space. York Minster, the largest Gothic cathedral in northern Europe, welcomes over 2 million visitors a year, to walk under its gothic archway & admire the dizzyingly high ceilings. Visit some of the many famous museums within the city's wall including the Jorvik Viking Centre or the National Railway Museum. Stroll through the Shambles, with is vast array of craft & gift shops, restaurants, clothing and sweet shops before making yourself at home in one of the charming tea rooms...... York is just a great place to be!
